GBEPA promotes safe paddling activities to all ages and abilities, doing so in the spirit of camaraderie, passing onto others knowledge and skill in the process. Following are descriptions of the specific paddling training courses we offer.

| Purpose: | To expose participants to the basic paddling and safety skills | | necessary to explore the different crafts used in paddle sport. | | Prerequisites: | None | | Duration: | 3 hours or more at instructor’s discretion | | Location: | Quiet water |

| Purpose: | Designed as a short program emphasizing safety, enjoyment, and skill | | acquisition for entry level individuals in the public, private, and | | commercial setting. | | Prerequisites: | None | | Duration: | 6 hours or more at instructor’s discretion | | Location: | Flatwater |

| Purpose: | To teach paddlers to safely learn and enjoy the art of kayaking on | | lakes, flatwater, and calm, protected ocean environments. | | Prerequisites: | None | | Duration: | 8 hours | | Location: | Calm, protected flatwater, within swimming distance to shore |

| Purpose: | To introduce paddlers to the technique of Eskimo rolling. | | Prerequisites: | None, but some experience in basic braces and leans can help. | | Duration: | 3 - 4 hours or more at instructor’s discretion | | Location: | Calm or flatwater |
